Temple Shaaray Tefila Celebrates 50 Years of Faith, Family and Future

On June 6, Temple Shaaray Tefila marked its 50th Anniversary with a memorable Golden Anniversary Gala, bringing together congregants, friends, and supporters for an evening that celebrated five decades of community, connection, and Jewish life.

The festivities began with a cocktail reception on the lawn, where guests gathered to reconnect and enjoy drinks and appetizers. A special highlight of the evening was a comedy set by acclaimed comedian and podcaster Jared Freid, whose sharp wit and relatable humor had the audience laughing before the celebration continued with dinner, auctions, and dancing.

Guests enthusiastically participated in both live and silent auctions, helping to support the Temple’s future while bidding on extraordinary experiences. Highlights of the live auction included a trip to Tuscany for two, an exclusive in-home dinner for 10 prepared by a chef from Nobu or Rao’s, golf for four at the prestigious Sebonack Golf Club, and VIP experiences with the Knicks, Yankees, and Mets. The silent auction featured an impressive collection of donations from local businesses, merchants, and community supporters.

Dinner was curated by renowned caterer Marcia Selden setting the stage for an evening of celebration. Elegant gold accents honoring the Temple’s 50th anniversary theme were woven throughout the event, complemented by stunning floral arrangements created by House of Flowers.

One of the evening’s most meaningful moments was the opportunity to welcome incoming Senior Rabbi Rabbi Ariel Boxman and honor founding Rabbi and Rabbi Emeritus Rabbi David Greenberg. Their reflections and blessings celebrated the congregation’s rich history while inspiring excitement for the years ahead.

The Gala was a fitting tribute to the generations of members, clergy, staff, volunteers, and leaders who have shaped Temple Shaaray Tefila over the past 50 years. As we look toward the future, we remain deeply grateful to the Gala Committee, volunteers, sponsors, donors, vendors, and Temple staff whose generosity and dedication made this extraordinary evening possible.
