Welcome to Temple Shaaray Tefila of Westchester

Temple Shaaray Tefila is a Reform Jewish congregation with a traditional spirit. We celebrate, teach, and observe the most worthy values and ideals of our Jewish tradition: Torah, mitzvah, and tzedakah. In doing so, we connect our members and their families to each other, to the greater Jewish community, and to Israel. Anyone who seeks a warm and vibrant Jewish community will feel comfortable in our congregation.

PRAY

Temple Shaaray Tefila is a Reform congregation with a traditional spirit. Our worship services encompass a wide range of spiritual experiences, with an emphasis on engaging music, inspiring speakers, and community prayer.

CONNECT

One of the most important aspects of our Temple life is the opportunity for congregants to create connections – to each other, to families and organizations in Westchester, to the greater Jewish community, to Israel, and to those in need around the world.

LEARN

Jewish education is a lifelong journey that should be meaningful, dynamic, challenging, and inspiring. Through our formal and informal educational programs, we hope to inspire a love of Jewish learning, a commitment to tikkun olam, and a deep connection to Israel.

CELEBRATE

Our clergy, staff, and buildings and grounds are always available to help you mark all of your Jewish life cycle events. From our magnificent sanctuary to our elegant social hall, Temple Shaaray Tefila provides a unique spiritual setting for any milestone.

Welcome to the High Holy Day Observances!

Whether you have been members for many years or if you are joining us for the first time, I hope you will find that our beautiful services in the unique setting at Caramoor will create a memorable experience for you.

We strive to make these services as spiritual and meaningful as possible for our congregation. We hope you will enjoy participating in our many offerings including the Selichot program on Saturday, September 21st and the Rosh Hashanah brunch at temple on Monday, September 30th. The Board and I are excited about our High Holy Day experience and look forward to receiving your feedback.

The High Holy Days are a time of reflection and counting our blessings. In addition to our worship services, we also offer the opportunity to remember loved ones who have passed through our Book of Remembrance and to help the greater Westchester community through our food drive. If there is anything we can do to make the holidays more meaningful for you, please do not hesitate to let us know.

We have created the guide book on the right to make it as easy as possible for you to access the grounds and participate in all of our holiday services. Please review it carefully and return the relevant forms, or submit the necessary information online.

As we approach the beginning of 5780, the Board of Trustees and I wish you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season. May we all enjoy a peaceful and sweet new year.
