Prayer at Temple Shaaray Tefila

Temple Shaaray Tefila is a Reform congregation with a traditional spirit. Our worship services encompass a wide range of spiritual experiences, with an emphasis on engaging music, inspiring speakers, and community prayer. Our Rabbis lead us in joyful prayer in so many special settings: in our beautiful sanctuary, outside on our extraordinary grounds, at Caramoor for the High Holy Days, and in families’ homes for more intimate Shabbat services. Our goal is for everyone to find inspirational prayer in a meaningful setting.

High Holy Days

Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur represent the holiest days on the Jewish calendar, a time when Jews throughout the world pause to reflect on the year gone by and prepare spiritually for the one ahead. At Temple Shaaray Tefila, our entire congregation gathers for several days of worship and reflection.

We are fortunate that all of the Temple’s High Holy Day celebrations take place at the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in nearby Katonah, New York. Formerly the estate of Walter and Lucie Rosen, Caramoor provides a beautiful and spacious setting for our services, including traditional services in the Venetian Theater, family services in their own dedicated tent, separate services for children and teens, and an alternative worship experience for those seeking something a little bit more contemporary. Child care is available on site for parents who want their own meaningful adult worship experiences.
