Thanksgiving 2024's Cooking for a Cause was an enormous success! More than 4,300 people across Westchester, the Bronx and Queens were cared for with over 1 ton of turkeys and countless pounds of side dishes! More than 700 volunteers brought this to life, with over 150 people joining for the very first time! More than 32 organizations benefited from this effort and were able to provide to their guests in ways that would otherwise be impossible. Thank you to Gary Cohn, Rich Leroy and Gayle Wasserman for their tremendous leadership. And thank you to the local businesses who contributed so generously: ACME, Ace Endico, Amato Farms, Brooklyn Brands, Chappaqua Village Market, Direct Source Marketing, Lefteris Gyro II, Lever & Ecker, PLLC., LGS Specialties, Kisco Bagels, Old Stone Trattoria, Sammy's Kosher, Exit 4 Food Hall, Falafel Taco, Ira Greenstein, Key Food, La Marquetta, ShopRite, Stop & Shop, Wegmans, Westmore Fuel, Zaro's Bakery.
Huge thank you to Robert Greenfield, Karyn Zitomer, and the army of volunteers and blood donors who made our Annual Blood Drive, in loving memory of Jack Zitomer a success! We had a record turn out and donated 72 pints of blood, helping 204 potential recipients! As a reminder, you can donate often, so check the Members Only Social Action App for additional opportunities or click HERE to find a blood drive near you!
We donated over 2,500 lbs of food to the Mount KIsco Interfaith Food Pantry and the CCNW through our High Holiday Food Drive. Thank you to Joyce Greenhaus and Lauren Hollander for leading this project, as well as everyone (especially our teens) that helped distribute bags, donate, collect, sort, and deliver food! This was a congregation-wide effort and blew the roof off of our donations from previous years!
Yellow Ribbons adorn our beautiful ceramic Kalaniot, planted in our memorial garden at the entrance to the temple. Together, we raised over $3,300 to be donated to help those displaced by the war in Israel, through the work of the IMPJ (the URJ in Israel).
