Howard Greenstein Trip to Israel (Part 2)
March 5, 2026Update from Israel: A Personal Perspective
My wife, Rabbi Deborah Zecher, served as the rabbi of Hevreh of Southern Berkshire in Great Barrington, Mass., for many years. Debbie was at Ben Gurion airport in Israel when the attacks began and all flights were cancelled, leaving her unable to fly back here to the United States. The local newspaper, The Berkshire Edge, spoke with her for a personal perspective. The feature article describes her attempts to return to the United States, the scene at the airport in response to the closure announcement, what it is like to be in Jerusalem now with our family, and her hopes for peace.
With prayers in our hearts for the people of Israel, and all who seek peace,
Rabbi Dennis Ross
