For the past fifteen years, Temple Shaaray Tefila has opened its doors to provide shelter to our community’s homeless. This year we will be hosting from November 4th through the 10th.
Most meals have been covered, so at this time we are asking for volunteers to provide travel size toiletries, warm socks and underwear, and hats and gloves for our guests. Donated items can be dropped at the temple office and labeled for the ESP any time in advance of the week we host. In addition to general donations we are looking for volunteers to spend a night at temple to help with any issues that may arise. Please know our guests do have a chaperone and we have not experienced any issues to date but having a representative from our temple brings additional comfort to everyone.
If you are able to participate in this incredible mitzvah, please contact Enid Linden by Monday, October 14th. Please give your phone number, specify how you would like to help and if you’re able to spend the night, your preference for date.
