Friday, May 3rd at 7pm
Listen to 2nd Generation Survivor Bettina Prober share the powerful and inspirational story of her father Holocaust Survivor Thomas Aczel. Thomas was born in Nagykanizsa, Hungary in 1939, and arrested in 1944, when he was just 13. He spent almost a year in the Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps before being liberated by American forces in 1945. Bettina researched and wrote her father’s story as part of the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center’s Safekeeping Stories series, which trains second generation survivors to preserve the legacies of their relatives. Bettina and her husband Michael live in Chappaqua with their three sons. Bettina’s youngest son Ben, a senior at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, is currently the President of the ENOUGH Club (Educate Now On Understanding Genocide and Hate) and will share his experience and the work the club does to empower students and the next generation to stand up to hate.
We encourage students ages 10+ and families to attend
