The above video was captured on 11/22/24 - A fireside chat between former congregant David Harris and  Rabbi Emeritus David Greenberg. This event was brought to us by our Israel Action Committee. David Harris shares his personal history, his passion for  supporting the Jewish People and his vast years of experience in political and diplomatic circles and his admonition to take action now to help Israel. Mr. Harris is the author of On the Front Lines, published this year. 

David Harris, a lifelong Jewish activist, led the American Jewish Committee (AJC) which has been described the New York Times as the “dean of American Jewish organizations,” from 1990-2022.  He was referred to by the late Israeli President Shimon Peres as the “foreign minister of the Jewish people.”  He has been honored more than twenty times by foreign governments for his international work, making him the most decorated American Jewish organizational leader in U.S. history.  Educated at the University of Pennsylvania and the London School of Economics, he has been a visiting professor at Johns Hopkins University and Oxford University.  David and his family were members of Shaaray Tefila for many years, with his three sons becoming Bar Mitzvah here years ago.
