Ranata Shlobin’s Message, 2-20-26
February 19, 2026“If You Can’t Get It From Washington, Go to Albany!” Join me and RAC-NY on February 25, Advocacy Day in Albany
I said that all the time during the twenty years (and one month) that I directed Concerned Clergy for Choice for Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts. In those two decades, I worked as a religious advocate with a network of New York State religious leaders to advance legislation that secured and strengthened access to contraception, keep abortion safe and legal, and make our state one of the first in marriage equality. We did all this all in the face of national efforts to tear down the basic civil right to uphold Jewish teachings on these issues.
Working there, I learned that meeting with policy makers, in their legislative offices, is one of the most impactful things any of us can do. They want to know what we think. They really listen to us. The opposition is outspoken and visits their offices regularly. That is why I am asking you to consider joining me, and our Reform movement’s RAC-NY’s Advocacy Day in Albany on Wednesday, February 25, to advocate for immigration and climate justice. I will be joining religious leaders from across the state to inform our policy makers about Jewish teachings on these urgent concerns. I hope you can be with me in Albany that day so that we can raise our voices together on behalf of New Yorkers and our earth in such great need. Click here to learn more and register.
This is a moment to make a difference!
B’shalom!
