Second Film: Before the Revolution
About Before the Revolution: A documentary thriller describing the last days of the Israeli community in Tehran on the eve of the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Al of a sudden, their peaceful and prosperous existence was shattered and they feared for their lives. Director Dan Shadur was in Iran at the time with his family and using personal footage, crafts a riveting and intimate look at the seismic political shift that formed the Middle East that is known today. Before the Revolution tells the real story of the cultural tidal wave that hit Iran and the Israeli men, women and children caught in its path.
This is the second film in our 3-film Israeli Film Festival. Please be on the lookout for information about the next film in March. Note: There is another Before the Revolution on Amazon, an Italian film from 1964. We are not watching that one!
