The Israel Action Committee Presents the Return of TST's Israeli Film Festival

Saturday, February 25 at 8pm via Zoom

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!

We will be screening:

Orchestra of Exiles

Please join the Israel Action Committee for the return of our popular Israeli Film Festival where we will be discussing Orchestra of Exiles.  Attendees will watch the film, available for free on Fandor through Amazon Prime, at their leisure.  On February 25, we will get together over zoom where Cantor Ines will lead us in a discussion of this amazing true story about how the courage of one man saved Jewish musicians from the Nazis and created the Palestine Symphony Orchestra.

Orchestra of Exiles, the thrilling story of how one man helped save Europe’s premiere Jewish musicians from obliteration by the Nazis.

In the early 1930's Hitler began firing Jewish musicians across Europe. Overcoming extraordinary obstacles, violinist Bronislaw Huberman moved these great musicians to Palestine and formed a symphony that would eventually become the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. With courage, resourcefulness and an entourage of allies including Arturo Toscanini and Albert Einstein, Huberman saved nearly 1000 Jews - and guaranteed the survival of Europe's musical heritage.

Featuring commentary by musical greats including Itzhak Perlman, Zubin Mehta and Joshua Bell, Orchestra of Exiles is a timeless tale of a brilliant young man coming of age, and the suspenseful chronicle of how his efforts impacted cultural history.

We look forward to seeing you on ZOOM on February 25 at 8pm.  We hope that you will be able to join us.
