Calling All Grandfriends!

Looking to make new connections while having fun with young children? All adults/empty-nesters (you do NOT need to be grandparents!) are welcome to build intergenerational relationships with our Early Childhood Center (ECC) students. A “Grandfriend” can be anyone, of any age who is interested in increasing their social connections. This inspiring program is designed to provide meaningful engagement between Temple members, bridging the gap between the two generations. You can come into the classrooms to read and play games. Or you can participate in our bigger monthly gatherings for special projects and snack. Both generations benefit by connecting and fostering a healthy view on life by appreciating each other. The children can grow from the wisdom and experience of our elders. Spending time with the elders helps children especially with their communication skills as well as having a role model to learn from. Similarly, the children are able to light up our elders’ days, alleviating social isolation and loneliness. Please click here to register and find out more information.
