Memorial Yahrzeit Plaques
Jewish tradition holds that the memory of our loved ones is kept alive through the support of living institutions. We would be grateful for any donation you feel moved to make to the Temple on this occasion.
Temple Shaaray Tefila’s Yahrzeit plaques perpetuate cherished memories of the loved ones we have lost and create a permanent family legacy in our sanctuary. Each nameplate is inscribed with the name of the departed in English in addition to the secular and Hebrew calendar dates of death. At the side of each nameplate is a memorial light, which burns bright each year on the Yahrzeit date and for all Yizkor Services.
Prayer Book Dedication
A Meaningful And Lasting Gift
Dedicate a High Holy Day prayer book in honor of a family member or friend.
We began using Mishkan HaNefesh, the High Holy Day machzor that complements Mishkan T’filah which Temple Shaaray Tefila has used for Shabbat Services for many years. In doing so, we joined with most Reform synagogues who use these books, enjoying the • extensive transliteration • more inclusive language • spiritual leadership thought and writings. We invite you to dedicate a book (or more!) In Honor or In Memory of a loved one.
Tree of Life
The beautiful gold leaves on our “Tree of Life” are displayed in the vestibule of our sanctuary. Each leaf is custom inscribed with the name of a loved one that you are remembering or honoring. Many families choose to celebrate a simcha, such as a B’nai Mitzvah, wedding or birth of a child or grandchild.
Cost: ($180 per leaf)
Walkway
Become a permanent part of that future through participation in our brick path walkway for commemorating life events such as B’nai Mitzvahs and weddings as well as honoring or remembering friends and loved ones.
The walkway is located in front of the Sanctuary. Cost: ($180 small $360 large)
