Join the Temple Garden

April 30th & May 6th

The Shaaray Tefilah Community Vegetable Garden has been a fixture on the Temple grounds for over 10 years. We are a small but dedicated team of Gardens who have found peace and friendship among the seedlings. Whether we are preparing the soil, planting seeds, weeding, harvesting, delivering fresh crops to the local food pantries, or creating family memories and traditions, everyone has found what they need in the Garden.

It’s a true mitzvah to share our fresh produce with organizations such as “Hope’s Door, Katonah Food Pantry, Mt Kisco Food Pantry, and the Mt Kisco Senior Center, but it is equally a mitzvah to share our fresh produce with friends and family as we harvest for ourselves and include all the vegetables on our own dinner tables.  Nothing “beets” the satisfaction every member has felt in one way or another from being part this special effort.

Please join us in the garden on April 30 at 10:00am for preparing the soil and  Saturday, May 6 at 10:00am for planting of the crops.

If you are not able to attend either of these 2 events, there is still a lot of opportunity to participate in many other aspects of supporting the Garden.  Your help is needed throughout the season to maintain the raised beds, to harvest the crops, to deliver the vegetables and of course….to eat the produce!

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY !!!

Please contact Sharon Reiner sharonreiner@msn.com for more information. Included with your donation of $36/family is everything you need for a sustainable season including instruction, seeds, plants, periodic tutorials, comradery and more!
