Dear Friends, Jews and Christians have shared a complicated history for most of the past 2,000 years. Tonight on the Jewish Calendar is Shabbat Shuva (the Shabbat of Reconciliation.) In a spirit of friendship we are inviting Father Patrick Ward, the spiritual leader of St Luke’s Episcopal Church in Katonah, to address us during our Shabbat Shuva service. Yom Kippur begins on Tuesday night. Please remember to bring your Tallis to Caramoor for Kol Nidre. It is a powerful experience to stand with a congregation dressed in white. Yizkor begins at 4pm led by Rabbi Greenberg. Immediately prior to Yizkor you are invited to learn with Dr. Joe Grossman. He will share sage insights from 90 years of living and will reflect on his Jewish journey. On Friday, October 14th come experience Tot Shabbat at 5:30pm, Shabbat Dinner in the Sukkah at 6pm, Sukkot Service at 7pm. The holiday meal is for the entire community. Friday, October 21st for Simchat Torah we will unroll the entire Torah for all to see and hold. It will be a night of singing and dancing as the High Holy Days reach a joyful crescendo. Wishing you all a heartfelt Hatima Tova, May we all be sealed in the Book of Life, Rabbi David Wilfond |
