Dear Friends,

May I ask you Four Questions for the High Holy Days?

1. Do you own a Shofar? If yes, please bring it with you to Rosh HaShanah morning services. For the last Tekiah Gedolah I will ask everyone with a Shofar to stand up by their seats and join together in blowing the final Tekia! It will sound awesome to have as many shofar blowers as possible.

2. Did you remember to get a Round Challah for Rosh HaShanah? It is a custom to have a round Challah to symbolize the circle of the year. Dipping Challah in honey adds sweetness to our prayers that this will be a sweet year. You can even get one at your local supermarket.

3. Have you set aside your Tallis for Kol Nidre? This is the only night of the year when a Tallis is worn. It would be great if you would bring yours too. Wearing a Tallis may help put you in the right spiritual mood for Yom Kippur.

4. Not sure what to do Yom Kippur afternoon?

Just before Yizkor, I will interview Dr. Joe Grossman. Joe is one of the wisest people I know and has been a member of the Temple for over 43 years! He will speak about his life and his Jewish journey. Our Temple’s greatest treasure is its members. Come get a dose of inspiration by being with Joe at 3pm -3:45pm Yom Kippur day before Yizkor.

May the New Year 5783 be a time of Renewal, Rejuvenation, and Rejoicing.

From my family to yours we wish you Shana Tova U’Metuka,
May it be a sweet new year,

Rabbi David, Deborah, Isaac, Eliora and Raphael Wilfond
