Living Judaism Religious School @ ShaarayTefila

Reopening Plan for 5781 (2020-2021)

General Information

• In guidance with CDC and New York State guidelines masks will be required to be worn by all teachers and learners when safe distancing is not possible.

• Learners will stay with the same pod all year consisting of one teacher and the same classmates.

• Drop-Off and Pick-Up: Each grade will be given a designated drop-off/pick-up location. Your child's teacher will take temperatures and do health checks for each learner. Thermometers, health questionnaires, masks and hand sanitizers to be provided. *A grade specific drop off/pick up map will be sent out*

• Tefila will be held before virtual class on Sundays and Mondays all are welcomed! (Until CDC restrictions on group singing are lifted)

• If your child is exhibiting a fever, runny nose, cough, sore throat, intestinal or stomach issues please keep them home. If your child becomes ill during religious school we will isolate them and call you for immediate pick-up.

• Bathrooms will be cleaned every 20-30 min while school is in session, There will be Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, soap and water in each bathroom and we will allow 1 child at a time. We have bathrooms in 6 different locations on our property.

• We will remain within CDC and state of NY requirements which limits class size to 18 students and 2 adults for indoor programs.

• Parents are asked not to enter the buildings on temple grounds unless absolutely necessary.

Beth Kerner, School Administrator or Carissa Celokyer, will be stationed outside for early pick-up or school related questions and information.

• If we have to pivot to all virtual programming, we have a rapid transition plan which include a variety of expansive platforms.

• If we must transition to an all virtual program and this modality does not fit your child's learning style, we will provide a tuition roll-over program to be applied to the 2021-2022 school year. Please contact Liz Marlowe for more details
