Tikkun Olam at Shaaray Tefila

Tikkun Olam at Temple Shaaray Tefila

The Social Action Committee is dedicated to Tikkun Olam - repairing the world, helping those less fortunate.  Committee members represent the Temple through active participation in local charitable organizations, both Jewish and nondenominational.  The committee distributes funds to worthy charities serving people in need close to home, in Israel, and around the world.  Social Action also organizes the Temple's response to world crises, including relief efforts in the Gulf Coast and in Darfur.  Ongoing projects include hosting the Emergency Shelter, cooking soups and meals for the community's hungry, preparing and delivering Christmas dinners for needy Christians in our community and collecting for local food pantries.
