High Holy Days -- Frequently Asked Questions

Will all High Holy Day experiences be virtual this year?

While we cannot come together as a community during this time of COVID-19, we have re-envisioned our High Holy Day experiences to provide meaningful connections. All of our worship services will be held virtually, in a safe and accessible manner. We have invested in new technology to further enhance our virtual experiences. You can find the schedule for our services here. Specific information on how to log on to our services will be provided to our temple members in the coming weeks.

A number of in-person components of our High Holy Day offerings will be available exclusively for temple members. These will include in-person programs on our beautiful grounds – at a safe distance – for rituals such as Tashlich and hearing the shofar, reflective experiences such as yoga and mindfulness meditation, and our important social action initiatives.

Can we invite extended family members and/or friends to our worship services? Which experiences can they attend?

Using our virtual platform, we have the opportunity to open up our tent to a broader community. We encourage you to invite your family and friends to join with us, as our guests, and celebrate the start of 5781. This is a wonderful way for us to showcase the beauty of our High Holy Day services and welcoming nature of our congregation. All extended family and guests who are not temple members will be asked to complete a registration form, in order to receive access links to the services via email. They can register using this link.

What is the “High Holy Days Drive-Through” on September 13?

On Sunday, September 13, we invite our congregation to help kick-off the High Holy Day season with a community “drive-through” in our upper parking lot. Each member family will receive a special High Holy Day package that includes items to help bring the holidays into your home and our new Temple Shaaray Tefila prayer book for the High Holy Days. Rabbis Wilfond and Greenberg will be there to greet you, along with many of our temple’s lay leadership and staff.

11:30 am - 1:00 pm.
If you are unable to pick up your package on September 13, we will provide days/times for later that week for pick up.

How do I include my loved ones’ names in the Yom Kippur Book of Remembrance?

As we have done in past years, we are creating a Book of Remembrance to honor and remember loved ones who have passed. You can submit names here to include in the book. Whether or not we have previously listed your names, it is traditional to make an annual contribution to the Book of Remembrance in memory of family members or friends. You may make your contribution to the Book of Remembrances or to any Temple fund.

The Book of Remembrance, including our Yom Kippur Yizkor service, will be include in the High Holy package that you can pick up on September 13th.
