Lifelong Learning | Religious School Religious School Registration Forms for the 2009-2010 school year are here! Judaism provides us an important and unique identity. Jewish education is the pathway on that lifelong journey as we seek – as individuals, families and a community – to understand our complex and dynamic culture and history. Our school strives to help all its students build a meaningful Jewish identity through the efforts of a dedicated and creative faculty. Our Religious School offers meaningful programs for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade and we strongly encourage students to take advantage of the different opportunities and programs offered each year. Students participate in classroom learning activities which cover specific subjects and Jewish traditions. They are also involved in tefila (worship services), music, arts and crafts and other special activities to enhance holiday celebrations or specific curricular themes. Our post-B'nai Mitzvah programming, Kesher (Hebrew for 'connection'), offers real life discussions and hands-on experiences for today’s teenagers in a pressure-free environment. With their friends, students leave with a better understanding of our complex world through a deeper appreciation of their Jewish history, traditions and values. On Mondays, students in grades 7-12 meet for dinner before their weekly program. For more information or to discuss your child's Jewish education, please contact Mara Braunfeld, Director of Education. You can reach the Religious School office at 914-666-3188.
