Welcome

Welcome to Temple Shaaray Tefila, a Reform congregation in Bedford Corners, New York. Our membership includes nearly 1,000 families with a diverse array of religious backgrounds. We welcome all who support our mission, regardless of religious background or current level of observance, including interfaith families.

Central to our mission is the Jewish value of l’dor v’dor (from generation to generation). To ensure that our Jewish values and traditions are preserved with each new generation, we have built some of the finest educational programs in the country:

• Our Early Education Center provides a nursery school experience that fosters creativity, self-awareness and self-discovery within a framework of Jewish values.
• Our Religious School prepares students to be active participants in their Jewish community and provides opportunities for families to learn and explore Judaism together.
• Preparation for Bar and Bat Mitzvah not only ensures a memorable simcha, but helps our teens become active and well-educated members of the Jewish community.
• Our youth groups help older teens solidify their Jewish identities and apply our tradition’s values to a modern world.
• At Shaaray Tefila, educational opportunities extend throughout adulthood, as we provide programs to explore our heritage as well as Reform Jewish perspectives on current events.

We are blessed to have a congregation that gives generously of its time in service to others and to tikkun olam (repairing the world). Indeed, to a large extent, we measure our success in terms of the people we serve, whether through programming, spiritual counseling, religious services or building a stronger sense of community. We strive every day to be a spiritual home for our congregants, a provider of help in times of need, and a partner in joyful occasions.
