Sisterhood

What Is Sisterhood?

The Sisterhood of Shaaray Tefila is an organization of women of all ages, who join together in friendship.  Whatever the project or event that we plan, there is only one rule that we follow:  how can we have fun while enjoying each others' company, as we learn more about ourselves and our Jewish heritage.

Our Temple is large and growing.  That can make it challenging to connect with one another and meet new people.  Our Sisterhood helps make the size of our Temple more manageable by offering opportunities for you to meet women who have similar interests.  You'll find a friendly and welcoming atmosphere when you attend our programs and activities.  We want you have a good time and feel more connected to our Temple.

We're also a caring community that strives to put our Jewish ideals into action.  The Caring Community Committee is supported by Sisterhood, and it helps meet the needs of our Temple family through sharing simchas, providing support during illnesses and recognizing life cycle events.

Sisterhood Mission Statement

We are a diverse group of women who share a common bond of friendship and the desire to make Judaism significant in our lives.  Through our many activities and events, we feel a sense of identity and belonging.

Our Sisterhood supports each us in expanding our Jewish knowledge and leadership.  We come together, in friendship, for a variety of programs, social activities and learning opportunties that help promote the growth of each woman.  The benefits of what Sisterhood provides are shared by both our Congregation and our greater Temple community.
